Most stories have a beginning, a middle, and an end. – “Hello, I Love You, Goodbye.” So too, even without words, instrumental music can also be heard as narrative.
In this intriguing concert, the virtuosi of New World Recorders focus on how various musical forms can be structured to create an audible narrative arc.
The Quartet plays music from the 15th to the 20th century by Dufay, Isaac, Locke, Purcell, Marcello, Schumann, Vaughan Williams and more, employing a variety of styles and sizes of recorders. A visual and aural delight for all!
